A Guide to using Building Swell's Notification Feature!

Introduction

Internal notification tools are helpful for several reasons:

  1. Notifications facilitate real-time communication among your team members, reducing the chances of miscommunication.
  2. They will streamline workflows by alerting employees to important tasks, deadlines, and helping them prioritize their work.
  3. They help centralize information by provide a single source for important updates, reducing the need to check multiple platforms, or have you running around the shop.
  4. Real-time notifications allow for faster decision-making and quicker responses times.

Prerequisites

  • Create an Order in Building Swell

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Head to Settings > Notifications

  1. Select the Notifications you'd like to receive:

Detailed list of Notification Settings:


Email: Also receive all notifications via email.

Mentions: We’ll notify when someone tags you in a comment.

All comments: We’ll notify you when someone leaves a comment on an order.

Quality Control for orders: We’ll notify you when an order has QC inspection available.

Quality Control failed inspection: We’ll notify you when an order fails its QC inspection.

Rework events: We’ll notify you when Rework is started on an order.


Once the desired notifications have been switched on you should be good to go!


  1. To leave a notification go to "Orders" > select an order > click the "Discussion" icon.

    Now you can leave a comment!

  2. You can see any new notifications by clicking the "bell icon" in the top right corner.


Tips or Best Practices

  • Your notifications will not automatically turn on. This will need to be manually switched on and the notification settings manually selected.
  • Use the "@" symbol to tag a specific person in a comment.
