Archiving
Introduction
You don't want to trash what you've done; that's your history. - Pat Benatar
Archiving allows users to set aside shops, projects, orders, routes, people, teams, and shifts to may no longer be active without worry of permanently removing them from the Building Swell environment. Should there happen to be a need to retrieve archived objects, there is an option to return items to the working environment.
Prerequisites
- Create at least one shop, project, order, route, person, team, or shift.
Step-by-Step Guide
How to archive
To the right of shops, projects, orders, routes, people, teams, and shifts, either displayed in clear view or hidden with the three dot options, the archive icon will allow users to archive the desired object. Clicking on this icon or written "Archive" word will prompt the user for a confirmation on whether the object should be archived. Upon confirmation, the object will be archived.
How to retrieve archived objects
Selecting "Archived" from "Settings" will bring up the Archived Bin.
Depending on which object needs to be restored, click on the respective tag to find it.
Once located, click on the restore icon on the far right to return it to the working environment. A confirmation modal will pop up. Click "Yes, restore it" to complete the transaction.
Tips
- Steps and comments cannot be archived.
- If archived people, orders and projects contain an ID, this ID cannot be used on a new object. Restore the archived person, order or project and remove the ID, or repurpose the restored object.
Conclusion
Have peace of mind that data will always remain within fingers reach in Building Swell, whether archived or in production.
