Quick Start Guide
This document is intended to get you up and running, fast. While not an exhaustive guide, it will help get your team online to start getting familiar with Building Swell.
Login
You should have received an email with login credentials to sign into Building Swell for the first time. Follow the link and instructions in the email to get started.
Didn’t see the email? Check your spam folder, then email us at support@buildingswell.com if you’re still not seeing it.
Profile
Now that you’re logged in, you may want to head over to your profile to update your name or password. Click the avatar at the top right of the screen to make changes.
Invite Your Team
Next, click on the Settings icon in the menu, and find the Users tab. From here, you’ll see the invite button in the top right of the screen.
Enter the email address(es) of your colleagues and select the access permissions (drop down menu entitled, Role) for each user.
Curious about creating new access roles? Check the Roles tab next to Users. But don’t worry too much about the roles right now – you can always update this later.
Explore the Rules Engine
You’re in! Now feel free to getting familiar with the platform.
We recommend starting with the Rules Engine updates, matching your shop’s physical processes. Here are a few key areas to focus on first.
- Shops – each shop facility your team operates
- Shifts - work shifts by shop or team
- Projects – current projects or jobs slated for production
- Stages – groups of production steps (think: stations or work cells)
- People – shop team members
Again, don’t worry too much about this. You can always update this during your kick-off call with the Building Swell team, or further down the road.
